Woodside Nine Hole Ladies Golf Association Constitution

ARTICLE I: NAME
The name of this organization shall be Woodside Nine Hole Ladies Golf Association (WNHLGA), herein referred to as the Association.
ARTICLE II PURPOSE
The purpose of the Association is to provide and play nine holes of competitive golf according to established USGA and local rules; to recognize the winning players; to foster friendship among its members; and to provide an opportunity for each member to improve her game of golf and to provide continued involvement to long time members who are unable to play golf.
ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
The Association will consist of golf and non-golf memberships. Eligible Woodside Country Club women will select their type of membership for a calendar year.
A. GOLF MEMBERSHIP Women golf members in good standing of the Woodside Country Club as published and defined in writing by the Woodside Country Club, shall become golfing members of this organization through the payment of annual dues. The Association is an open and inclusive organization that allows concurrent membership with the LGA.
1. All members must have and maintain an established handicap. New members without an established handicap can not receive participation and competition points until a handicap is established. A minimum of five (5) nine hole scores entered into the Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) are required to establish a handicap. This handicap requirement is to be monitored by a designee of the President.
2. Members with handicaps of thirty (30) or more for nine holes must use a thirty (30) handicap for competition.
B. NON-GOLFING MEMBERSHIP Women members of the Woodside Country Club who have been members of the Association for a minimum of five consecutive years, but can no longer play golf, shall become non-golfing members of this organization through the payment of annual dues with the exception of past presidents who will be granted "Honorary" non-golfing membership.
1. Non-Golfing members are not eligible to play golf in any Association event.
2. Non-Golfing members may attend all social functions of the Association.
3. Non-Golfing members do not have voting rights.
4. Non-Golfing members may serve on Association Committees.
5. Non-Golfing members are not eligible to be an officer of the Association.
ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS
The officers of this Association shall be a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary, and a Treasurer.
ARTICLE V: GOVERNMENT
A. The executive committee shall be the present officers and the immediate past president. The executive committee shall make policy recommendations regarding the Constitution and By-laws to the General Membership and set dates for various golf and social events.
B. The Executive Committee shall transact business of the Association consistent with their duties. The Executive Committee shall establish rules for the Association and shall make policy recommendations to the Association members.
ARTICLE VI: MEETINGS
General membership meetings of the Association shall be held at least three times a year. Regular meetings of the Executive Committee shall be held preceding the general membership meeting and at any other time designated by the President.
ARTICLE VII: THE ASSOCIATION YEAR
The Association year is defined as the fiscal and golfing year from January 1 through December 31.
ARTICLE VIII: AMENDMENTS
The constitution and/or by-laws may be amended providing the proposed amendment is posted on the Niners bulletin board or emailed to the Association members at least two weeks prior to the general membership meeting at which a vote on the amendment is taken. The amendment shall be passed by the majority of those present.
